This is a very famous restaurant chain from London. Indian restaurant in the Grand Irani style with marble table top and checkered floors. It oozes charm and elegance from a bygone era. Upon entering the restaurant, the aroma of spices envelops your senses. It’s gentle and inviting. Going upstairs and it opens to the old world charm of a grand Irani cafe with wood paneling and furniture, slow moving fans, glass chandeliers. The dishes are ordered and shared as in any Indian restaurant . The spices and well balanced and the “heat” have been toned down. However the taste has not been affected. Food was super delicious. Reservation is highly recommended as there’s always a long queue outside. I was told that the wait could be one and a half hours without reservations. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic dinner at Dishoom with a variety of dishes that mostly hit the mark. The lamb samosas, lamb chops, lamb pepper fry, and salli boti were all bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The garlic naan and roomali roti were fresh and complemented the meal beautifully. The fruit crumble with vanilla ice cream and the chocolate pudding served with a unique, spicy Kashmiri chilli ice cream were a perfect end to the meal. The only slight letdown was the chicken ruby , it wasn’t bad, but we’ve had better. That said, the decor is stunning, and the service was attentive and warm. Overall, a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

I think its probably the best restaurant chain in the whole of UK. There's always a queue outside Dishoom. Its location in Edinburgh is awesome. Right opposite the park that plays movies on a Sunday. Staff The staff does an awesome job both at the reception and while serving. The service is quick and awesome and considering the number of tables they are catering to it's unbelievable. Dinks Drinks are awesome. I love Mojito and theirs is slightly different in taste but amazing. Food The food is simply awesome. It tastes like home food. The black dal is my favourite. The crispy bhindi is also amazing. So is the pulao. Ambience The ambience is amazing. Cost If you eat and drink well, the meal for three might cost anything between 900-1100 pounds. An awesome experience and a highly recommended restaurant. Go for it

Travelled from England for the Easter holidays and wanted somewhere nice to have dinner on our last night. From the outside, it's unassuming, but once you step through the doors, you're transported into a totally different world. You come in through the kitchen (great strategy, dishoom). The smoke and smells hit you straightaway. We were told to expect a 40 min wait, but we were seated in 20, at a window overlooking St. Andrew square. The staff are quite friendly (shame they don't wear badges), but Elise took good care of us and shared some recommendations which were on point. I've never had chaat before but I like it now. The salli boti was bursting full of flavour and if you have a penchant for something hot and spicy, you can try the mutton fry on a dare. The Ruby chicken is another must try. Smooth, silky, melt in your mouth chicken curry. We are yet to settle the bill as of the time of writing this but it's definitely going to be but not bad for a family of 4. The experience was worth it though. Thank you, dishoom.

Service - very friendly and helpful. Full of recommendations, we love that. Food - delicious. It already stars with the smell when entering the restaurant. The cheese naan is delicious! Atmosphere - lovely! Make sure to also check the bar downstairs. When you enter you notice the kitchen where you see them Preparing the naan. We sat on the floor upstairs and had beautiful view to the park. Location - fine Price - okay-ish Wifi - unknown

Simply amazing experience!! I really liked the vibes of Dishoom, very authentic and cool. Everything is very smooth and highly organized despite how packed it was on a Monday night. We came without a reservation, first got seated at the bar, and only after about 20-25 minutes got a table already. Service was very kind and fast, our dinner arrived about 20 after putting in the orders. Food was wonderful, chicken ruby and house daal are highly recommended! An extra personal touch is that for those who are celebrating, they put an extra candle in the dessert which is on the house for the one. Paying the bill is super efficient with the QR code and the app, you can easily split. Overall, exquisite experience, highly recommended!

Dishoom was wonderful as always! We had it in London and this was just as enjoyable. Finally got to try breakfast, and it was so worth it! Loved the Wrestler Roll and the Oat Chai! Ira was wonderful!! She helped us both times we went for breakfast and made our experience even better!!

I recently visited an Indian restaurant where we ordered a variety of dishes. I personally went for the chicken biryani, which was quite spicy—as you'd expect from Indian cuisine. The flavours were rich and satisfying, and overall, the food was delicious. That said, I’ve had even tastier Indian dishes at other places, some of which you wouldn’t even believe could surprise you with such authentic flavours. The service was excellent. Our waiter explained everything in detail and even offered some great suggestions that we really enjoyed. The ambience was charming, with decor that featured plenty of old Indian photographs, adding a nostalgic and vibrant touch that I found really appealing. It was a delightful experience, with tasty food, attentive service, and a cosy atmosphere. A spot worth checking out if you’re in the mood for Indian cuisine!
